Healthy and clean complexion can be accomplished by a daily cleaning routine of the face. We use masks and cleansers to remove the dead skin cells from the face on our skin, and moisturizing creams to hydrate the skin.

Using expensive skin products is not always the best idea, not just because of their high price, but also because often they don`t show the promised effects and they contain many chemicals which can cause side effects and harm the skin as well as our health.

Making a natural face cream is always a better option, because it costs less and you use only natural ingredients which will provide your skin with the necessary nutrients.

Here we will present you a recipe for homemade facial cream from only 2 simple ingredients which you probably already have in your kitchen: coconut oil and baking soda. Both ingredients are very efficient when it comes to treating problematic skin, plus they are so safe that they can actually be eaten.

The mixture of baking soda and coconut oil is great for treating acne, scars, skin redness, as well as for exfoliation and elimination of dead skin cells and excess oil and dirt.

Baking soda is used in many different homemade cosmetic products, as a deodorant, polishing agent, for whitening your teeth or deep cleansing product for the household. It is an excellent remedy for acne, it regulates the pH value of the skin and heals breakouts.

Coconut oil has healing, antibacterial and moisturizing properties and it`s action is gentler, so it is used to moisture the skin and regulate the harsh effect of the baking soda.

This combination is safe for sensitive skin. For the best results, use wet-milled virgin coconut oil.

For preparation of this natural deep cleanser, you need coconut oil and baking soda in different ratios, depending on the skin type. For sensitive skin, use them in ration 2:1. For exfoliation, use equal amounts of both ingredients.

Preparation:

  • Mix both ingredients and apply the mixture on the skin
  • Massage gently in circular motions to stimulate circulation
  • Wash off the mixture with lukewarm water
  • If you want to use it as a facial mask, leave the mixture for a couple of minutes before washing it off.
